Recently, Mr.Zhuang Yang, Chairman of Transmission and Access Network Technical Committee 6, CCSA, stated on the "Smart Optical Network 2020 online Forum" that the smart optical network fully meets the characteristics of the new generation of optical networks. TC6 will also play a leading role in optical network standards and accelerate the implementation of the smart optical network industry.
According to speech, in the past year, under the guidance of Jinping Xi’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, CCSA has implemented the new development concept, which is deployed in accordance with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation and based on the strategy of network power and manufacturing power, actively responding to complex international situations. CCSA has steadily promoted the reform and development of information and communication standardization, and made a series of breakthroughs.
Since 2019, CCSA has continuously expanded its depth and breadth in the field of standards research, and has made significant progress in the development of standards in key areas such as 5G, industrial Internet, IPv6, Internet of Vehicles, cloud computing, big data, block chain, and network information security. It has completed 370 standardization projects, advocated the completion of 54 international standards and led the establishment of 49 new standards. The supporting role of standardization work in the service industry and high-quality economic development continues to being demonstrated.
In the context of the raging coronavirus pandemic and sudden changes in the international situation, TC6, as an important part of CCSA, has withstood the pressure. A series of important national standards and communications industry standards on 5G bearer, SDON, broadband speed project, optical fiber and cable, high speed module, etc., have been released, laying the foundation for the rapid development of optical network.
“As an important part of the new infrastructure, the optical network is an cornerstone to support social and economic development. The integration of cloud computing, big data, AI and other new technologies with the communications industry will release strong momentum and bring unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the upgrade and transformation of traditional optical networks. A new generation of optical network with features such as minimal deployment, agile deployment, and smart operation and maintenance are ready to emerge.” Zhuang Yang said. He pointed out that the proposal of smart optical network will fully meet the requirements of next generation optical network characteristics.
